Aprilia Attributes Historic Silverstone MotoGP Sweep to Aero Advantage

Aprilia Racing has pointed directly to aerodynamic efficiency as the primary driver behind its historic sweep of the British Grand Prix weekend. Chief Executive Massimo Rivola explained that the RS-GP excelled through fast corners where aerodynamic load comes into its own. For the first time in its premier-class history, the manufacturer monopolized the top three positions across qualifying, the Sprint and the main Grand Prix at Silverstone.

Rivola highlighted high-speed cornering behavior as the defining characteristic of the Italian machine relative to its competitors. He noted that faster turns allow the aerodynamic package to work more effectively, creating a performance window that suited the Northamptonshire circuit. While acknowledging that track layouts continue to dictate the relative strengths between manufacturers, Rivola praised technical director Fabiano Sterlacchini and the entire engineering division in Noale for delivering a competitive package.

The dominant weekend has completely reshaped the championship standings. Aprilia riders now command the top three places in the riders' world championship, with Jorge Martin leading factory team-mate Marco Bezzecchi and Trackhouse competitor Ai Ogura. Reigning title holder Marc Marquez currently stands as the leading Ducati representative in fourth position, sitting forty points adrift of Martin at the head of the table.

Alongside the rider standings, Aprilia holds the advantage in both the constructors' and teams' world championships following the British round. Rivola emphasized that the recent success stems from collaborative effort and belief within the organization rather than a single component breakthrough. Track action resumes with the championship battle entering a crucial phase as rivals attempt to claw back ground on the Noale factory.
