Pramac names Izan Guevara to replace Jack Miller for 2027 MotoGP season
Izan Guevara will step up from Moto2 to join Pramac Yamaha in 2027, filling the seat left by Jack Miller.

Pramac Yamaha has announced that Izan Guevara will step up from Moto2 to partner Toprak Razgatlioglu at its MotoGP squad next year. The Spanish racer, who is part of Yamaha's rider development programme, takes the place vacated by Jack Miller, who announced his departure from MotoGP ahead of the Aragon Grand Prix. Guevara's appointment comes amidst a strong fourth season in the intermediate category, where he currently sits second in the championship standings.
The promotion marks the first graduation from Yamaha's BLU CRU development structure, which was implemented with Pramac in Moto2 last season. Yamaha managing director Paolo Pavesio noted that the manufacturer has tracked Guevara's talent since his Moto3 world championship success. Pavesio explained that despite challenging initial seasons in Moto2, a mutual commitment made a year and a half ago aimed to guide the rider toward the premier class.
Pavesio highlighted Guevara's work ethic, determination, and consistency as key factors in his readiness for the premier class. With MotoGP entering a new technical era in 2027, Yamaha believes the timing is ideal for a rookie to make the transition. The Japanese manufacturer expects the shift to new regulations and machinery to create a unique opportunity for emerging talents to adapt and establish themselves.
Reflecting on his upcoming promotion, Guevara described the step as a lifelong dream achieved through extensive hard work and sacrifice. While expressing excitement for the 2027 challenge, the Spaniard emphasized that his immediate focus remains entirely on concluding his Moto2 title campaign. Meanwhile, departing rider Jack Miller is expected to transition to the World Superbike championship with Yamaha imminently.
Guevara joins a growing list of rising talents preparing for the premier class as the grid undergoes significant generational renewal ahead of the major 2027 regulation changes. Team management expects the incoming rookie to focus initially on adaptation and learning before targeting higher competitive milestones alongside his experienced teammate.
